I think that it COULD be debated whether or not conformity leads to communism or not, because communism is just left-winged politics constraining the market heavily whereas conformity is just following what others do.

Trends could be considered as a form of conformity, and trends are vital for capitalism for a healthy free exchange of goods. In Communism, trends tend to be dissipated because sometimes trends are not beneficial for the country's economy (like importing a fad from Japan or something).

At the same time, less trends could mean less variety and choices, therefore it might impose a bigger type of conformity but which would be more long-lasting than a simple trend.



So what is conformity?
